Cacao Maca Bliss Balls
Bliss balls are always a crowd pleaser! These treats are packed with nutrients and energy, making them the perfect morning addition to your coffee, or as an afternoon pick-me-up snack. Maca is an incredible energy booster, and cacao has sustainable caffeine that creates a perfect pair for keeping you alert for taking on what life brings to you! Mixing these flavours with coconut is a tasty trio that everyone can enjoy.
What you'll need:
- 500g dates
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 2 tsp Connect Foods Maca Powder
- 2 Tbsp Connect Foods Cacao Powder
- 1 tsp vanilla bean powder
- 1 cup coconut shreds
- Connect Foods Cacao Nibs (for rolling)
Pulse dates and coconut oil in blender until they create a chunky paste. Add in coconut flour, cacao powder and maca powder and pulse until lightly mixed. Spoon the mixture into a mixing bowl.
Add in coconut shred and mix until well combined. Create a layer of cacao nibs on a plate for rolling into balls. Take rounded tablespoons of the dough into your hands and roll into balls. The mixture will be slightly oily (which is great for your skin!)
Dip each one into cacao nibs and press gently into the surface. This will add a little delicious crunch and texture. After you are done forming all the dough, place your tray/plate of bliss balls in the freezer and allow to set for 5-10 minutes.
They will be ready to snack on for you and friends and family. Makes about 12-15 bliss balls, depending on size. Keep stored in the refrigerator for up to one week (if they last that long!)
Enjoy your bites of bliss!
