Avocado Toast 10 Different Ways
Let's face it, avocado toast is one our favourite things. That creamy texture and rich flavour is the perfect compliment to any kind of toast. Wether it's on rye or sourdough, on fluffy light gluten-free rice bread or dense and eggy paleo bread, it pretty much goes with everything. Breakfast, lunch, dinner... dessert? Well try the honey and goat's cheese and you let me know wether you'd rather have that or some refined sugar chocolate cake...
It can get tricky trying to keep the same snack fresh and new. It's just so easy to crack open an avo and spread it on some toast! Here's a few ways to liven up your routine (and avocado addiction... or is that just me?)
Hopefully they also inspire you to create some new ideas of your own!
The Classic
Smash avo in a bowl with olive oil and lemon juice. Spread over toast and sprinkle with cayenne or pepper flakes.
Cucumber Hummus
If you haven't experimented with hummus and avo yet, give it a try. They are a match made in creamy heaven. Top with thinly sliced cucumber for a fresh crisp.
Herbs and Cheese
Try folding in some feta cheese and mint leaves. The tangy cheese and brightness of the mint really compliment each other... Or experiment with other fun combinations like basil and manchego, or thyme and raw goats cheese.
Cheezy Avo (Vegan Style)
Make it vegan by using sunflower seed, hempseed, or cashew nut cheeze. Some brands even make some great flavors to mix it up, or whip up some of your own! (Garlic + lemon + nuts = divine)
Pesto and Lemon
Slab on some homemade superfood pesto with a squeeze of lemon juice. Hempseed pesto made with flax / linseed oil will pack an incredible amount of protein and omega fatty acids!
Smoked Salmon
You can still get the New York Jewish Deli Style breakfast without the bagel (or sassy waitress). Top some gluten-free sprouted bread with smashed avo, thinly sliced red onion and smoked salmon. Add some vegan tofu cream cheese for extra creaminess.
Curried Avo Toast with Lime and Mustard Seed
Mix lime juice into your avo mash, and sprinkle on curry powder and mustard seed for an international flare.
Guac style
This might be one of the easiest ways to get a satisfying guacamole flavour. Dice up some sweet onion and coriander to mix into your avo, spread it on your toast and top with tomato slices. Bueno!
Harissa, Smashed Avo, Poached Eggs and Goat Cheese with Honey Drizzle
Honey and creamy goats cheese mix beautifully and balance out the spicy harissa. Can also be substituted with cayenne pepper or Sriracha
Avocado and Mango
Tropical way to start your day. They go surprisingly well together.
